In the paper industry, fluff pulp originated in Europe in the 1950s and was mainly used in the field of household paper. Fluff pulp is widely used in the field of household paper, because compared with other ordinary pulps, fluff pulp has long fibers, good strength, high density, better fibrillation rate, certain elasticity and better core pad integrity . Therefore, fluff pulp is the pulp used as a water-absorbing medium by various sanitary products including dry-laid paper, high-end napkins, facial tissues, square tissues, and as women's sanitary napkins, baby diapers, adult diapers, nursing mattresses, etc. Those diapers that claim to have no fluff paddles use dust-free paper in the suction body. The dust-free paper is also made of fluff paddles and is mainly used for ultra-thin diapers. There is no diaper without "fluff pulp", because the fluff pulp itself is not harmful.

According to the use of fluff pulp, the properties of fluff pulp can be summarized into three parts, namely the general properties of fluff pulp, the properties of fluff pulp board and the properties of fluff:

1. The general properties of fluff pulp: including whiteness, organic solvent extract, fiber length and its distribution.

2. The properties of fluff pulp board: including quantitative, tightness, burst resistance, and moisture.

3. The properties of fluff: including specific volume, moisture absorption time and moisture absorption speed, moisture absorption.

In the past ten years, with the rapid development of related industries such as diapers, feminine sanitary napkins, and medical mattresses, especially the prosperity of the diaper market, the demand for fluff pulp has also increased by leaps and bounds, and has doubled. In 2010, the global fluff pulp output was about 5.17 million tons. In the following two years, major fluff pulp manufacturers around the world merged and expanded their production. In 2013, the global fluff pulp production capacity reached 5.4 million tons, and almost all of them were sold as commercial pulp. According to data, in recent years, the use of fluff pulp has shown an upward trend as a whole, which has promoted the increase in its production and the dependence on fluff pulp has become stronger and stronger. This shows that fluff pulp is not only the choice of high-quality products.
